Tracy Glumac

A FEW MINUTES WITH TRACY GLUMAC OF CORE INVESTMENTS, INC.

Tracy Glumac is a Senior Property Accountant at Core Investments, Inc. She joined the company April 2023.

What do you actually do for Core?

I work on financial statements, reconciliations and any other accounting and finance responsibilities for the portfolio. The portfolio is a mix of commercial and residential properties that each accountant has been assigned. There are four Senior Property Accountants. Currently I’m remote on Mondays and Wednesday.

Tracy, what did you do before Core?

I spent 12 years at the National Fire Protection Association in Quincy as Property Manager and Real Estate Accountant for our four commercial office buildings. Before that I spent 12 years at Newbury Comics in accounting. I’m very interested in music. I worked at a store at night as a second job. My manager had recommended me for a position in the accounting department, and it grew from there. When I left I was Manager of the Accounting Department. The headquarters is in Brighton.

Where did you go to school?

Northeastern University, for finance and accounting management. I’ve been working as an accountant for over 20 years. I went to school at night until I had my son. I took the long way.

And where did you grow up?

I went to elementary school in Stoughton, and I graduated from high school in Norton.

Where do you live?

I’ve lived in Weymouth for the past 12 years.

How do you get to work at the Core offices at the Prudential Center when you go into work?

I take the commuter rail from Westwood. It’s quicker to drive to University Avenue in Westwood for the train than to take the Red Line from Braintree and switch to the Green Line.

What do you do to have fun when you’re not working?

I have two young kids, an 8-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter. That keeps us very busy with activities and sports — hockey, dance, jujitsu. And I am involved with my son’s school, Treasurer for the Parent Council at school. We spend a lot of time with family and friends. That keeps me busy. To relax I like to go somewhere near the water.

What’s a favorite place of yours in the Boston area?

So the last few years I’d spent not much time in Boston, till joining Core. It’s nice to be back in city. I remembered how much I love the energy of our city. I’m looking forward to showing my kids more of the city. Last year my sister and I, we took them on Codzilla, and they thought that was the best thing ever.

Is there anything new in your life?

The new job is the big one. It was a total change in schedule and different responsibilties. So that’s been the biggest thing. There are always new surprises with kids. Never a dull moment, right?
