Joe Byrne

A FEW MINUTES WITH JOE BYRNE OF CORE INVESTMENTS, INC.

Joe Byrne is an Asset Services Manager at Core Investments, Inc. He joined the company in March.

What do you actually do for Core?
I support the residential portfolio and ongoing day-to-day of the commercial side of existing property, as opposed to the development side. I help Rob [Rob Waters, Director of Asset Services] and Zach [Zachary Greene, Vice President of Asset Services].  About 45 residential units, 12 to 15 buildings. The commercial is a pretty large portfolio.

Joe, what did you do before Core?
I worked at CBRE in Newport Beach [California] in commercial property management and also worked at Arbor Realty Trust in Boston, an asset management for multifamily bridge loans. I graduated school in 2020 and went out [to California] for a year and a half to change it up a little bit. I got a job offer, and I moved there with a buddy from Boston. It was a simple life experience. There came a point where it was time to move back home. I enjoyed the lifestyle and hung out in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa as well, including a place called the Goat Hill Tavern.

Where did you go to school?
I went to UMass Amherst. I was in the business school, a finance major. I got a Bachelor of Finance.

And where did you grow up?
I grew up in the South Shore, Hanover, Massachusetts.

Where do you live now?
I live in Dorchester.

What do you do to have fun when you’re not working?
I hang out with friends from school in the Southie area. Love trying new restaurants in the Boston area. We have a family house in Falmouth. I'm a big boating guy. It’s a power boat — a Sea Ray. I like putting around Falmouth and over to the Vineyard in the summer. I’m not quite a fisherman, more just casual,
to hang out.

What’s a favorite place of yours in the Boston area?
I was just at Malibu Beach in Dorchester. It’s by my house and over by UMass Boston. The Boston HarborWalk is a go-to spot for runs and workouts. Also, I like to go for Jeep rides around the Cape. I have an old Wrangler.

Is there anything new in your life?
Core, obviously.
