A FEW MINUTES WITH EVAN BIETTE OF CORE INVESTMENTS, INC.
Evan Biette is a Real Estate Analyst at Core Investments, Inc. He joined the company in February 2024.
What do you actually do for Core?
I work on the Asset Services team, and then I also kind of straddle the Development and Finance Teams, generally lending a hand running analysis or working on financing packages. I do a lot of work on the Master Plan for On the Dot, looking at various scenarios as we think about the next steps in the [development] process. Elsewhere in the portfolio, I’m looking at various different projects and providing general support, you know, trying to make things work.
Evan, what did you do before Core?
I worked for a similar company, Jumbo Capital, out of Quincy. I wore a number of hats there and worked with a lot of great people. Before that I worked for a prop tech company called inBliss, based out of Finland, interesting stuff.
Where did you go to school?
Clarkson University up in Potsdam, New York. I got a degree in Financial Information and Analysis. That’s a long way of saying accounting and finance. It’s a college town near St. Lawrence and two State Universities in New York. It’s way up near the border. You can throw a rock and hit Canada, or maybe Ichiro could. There are a lot of colleges up there. Lots of good hockey.
Do you play hockey?
I do. Reigning men’s league champions, actually. I also played back in high school.
And where did you grow up?
Belmont, right outside of Boston.
What do you do to have fun when you’re not working?
I like walking around downtown, trying out new restaurants. I like to play hockey and golf. My handicap is not very good, I’m working on getting better. I like playing – I never said I was good at it. I have a [golf] set up back in my apartment – it doesn’t help.
Where do you live now?
I live in the North End.
What’s a favorite place of yours in the Boston area?
I like walking around the North End, being on the water, looking for good places to eat. I’m lucky enough to live here now, so I guess that’s my favorite place.
Is there anything else new in your life?
Yes, actually, a new nephew. It’s a lot of fun having a baby around, getting to know him before he gets to know me. He just turned six months old. I see him once a week.
